Dear Vermont energy organizers:

Community energy and climate change issues are coming to the
forefront in Vermont - including a new grant program, an upcoming
conference, and a community energy mobilization pilot project to help
people save energy in their homes.

- ANR CLIMATE CHANGE GRANTS
1) Agency of Natural Resources releases Request for Proposal for
"Vermont Community Climate Change Grants": This grant program is
specifically for Vermont municipalities and non-profit organizations
to support projects that increase energy efficiency and achieve
measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. This program is
designed to help both municipalities and local residents and
businesses reduce energy costs through improved energy efficiency and
increased use of renewables. Attached please find a copy of the RFP.

- COMMUNITY ENERGY MOBILIZATION PILOT PROJECT
3) Vermont Community Energy Mobilization Pilot Project: Efficiency
Vermont, in partnership with the Vermont Energy and Climate Action
Network, is planning to implement a pilot project this winter working
with town energy committees and other civic groups to utilize
volunteers to directly install low-cost energy saving measures in
Vermonters homes and to educate Vermonters about energy savings
opportunities. If you are currently undertaking, planning to
undertake, or know of efforts that use volunteers to directly assist
people in installing energy saving measures, please contact Paul
Markowitz at 802 229 6307 or email at paul@markowitzvt.com.
